Regaining Faith In Humanity: Juno

Thanks to Red Box We had the chance to watch Juno this past weekend, I have to say this is one of the best movies I have seen all year, then again I haven’t seen Iron Man yet.

To be honest I can’t pinpoint the exact reason I loved this movie so much, there were so many great messages found throughout the film. The thing you constantly hear the critics talk about is how this film was about abortion, but over all I believe the movie was about love. Love for human life.

As you could have guessed by the previews and other reviews, Juno becomes pregnant after one night with her best friend Paulie Bleeker. Her first reaction was to “nip it in the bud” and get an abortion, after all she was in high school and she was not responsible enough to be a mother and raise a child. But after meeting a protesting school mate in front of the abortion clinic who informs Juno that her baby already has fingernails, she rethinks this plan. She talks with her parents and friend and decides the best option is to have the child and give it up for adoption to a family that can not have children on their own. And that is all I can really say about the storyline without starting to spoil the movie.

What I can share with you is my favorite scene from the movie, this is the scene where Juno regains her faith in love and humanity. –Click here–

So If you have not yet seen this movie, do yourself a favor and go rent it.

Heard a lot of good things about this movie, but wasn’t sure it was one I wanted to see…now I’ll rent it. Although I suspect it will make me cry.

  3. Hi, Nick

Steve and I loved Juno as well…I did not know that critics were saying it’s about abortion…crazy!

I loved the turning point about the baby’s future home, I won’t spoil it for people who haven’t seen it!
